Murkomen emphasized the need for adherence to traffic rules to prevent such mishaps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong> <\/span>KPA Managing Director Captain William Ruto\u2019s car was involved in an accident in Taita Taveta County on Friday evening while travelling to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, reportedly involving a stationary trailer.<\/p>\n<p>According to Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, the trailer had no signage. \u201cNow the driver and turnboy of the trailer have caused a huge loss to the country and Captain Ruto himself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Mombasa Hospital after visiting the KPA boss, Murkomen called on motorists to be cautious while on the road, especially during the festive season when travel increases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is stable, according to doctors. He has undergone all medical investigations, and the conclusion is that he is stable and out of danger,\u201d the CS said.<\/p>\n<p>He said Captain Ruto will be under observation for 24 hours. He condoled with the family following the loss of their daughter in the accident. He also called on all Kenyans travelling to exercise caution on the roads.<\/p>\n<p>Murkomen, who was accompanied by DCI Director Mohamed Amin and Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli, was in Mombasa to assess the security situation in the region when he received the news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here to ensure security for all at the Coast.\u201d Murkomen is expected to meet the chief security agents before visiting Makupa Police Station later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must all protect ourselves. All must do their part to ensure safety,\u201d Murkomen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe God will give Captain Ruto a quick recovery so he can continue serving Kenyans,\u201d Murkomen said. He said the Transport Ministry is working with NTSA to help reduce road accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Most accidents, he said, occur due to human error, which can be avoided. These include lack of signage, poor parking, overspeeding, and failure to adhere to traffic rules, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must all be careful when using our roads. Traffic rules must be obeyed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Road safety has been a significant concern in Kenya, where accidents often result from human error, inadequate signage, and disregard for traffic regulations. The government has been working to improve road safety measures, particularly during peak travel seasons like holidays. Recent incidents have highlighted the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and better public awareness to reduce accidents and fatalities on the roads.
