Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong> <\/span>It is with deep concern and considerable apprehension that I address the current situation at the Football Kenya Federation. The National Executive Committee resolution to suspend President Hussein Mohammed marks a critical moment that demands our collective attention and a swift resolution.<\/p>\n

As someone who has previously held this office and devoted my efforts to developing football in Kenya, I cannot remain silent when the future of our sport hangs in the balance.<\/p>\n

The challenges that have led to this suspension are undoubtedly serious and warrant thorough investigation and accountability. However, we must also acknowledge that the way these matters are being handled has profound implications for our national football program.<\/p>\n

The Football Kenya Federation is not merely an institution; it is the custodian of our national football aspirations and the pathway through which thousands of young Kenyans pursue their dreams.<\/p>\n

What concerns me most is the timing and the potential impact on our preparations for the African Cup of Nations. If this crisis is not addressed swiftly and decisively, it will severely hamper Kenya\u2019s preparations, both as a participant and as a co-host nation.<\/p>\n

Together with our neighbors Uganda and Tanzania, Kenya is set to host the African Cup of Nations in June 2027 as part of the Pamoja bid\u2014a historic opportunity for East Africa.<\/p>\n

Any prolonged governance crisis within the FKF could jeopardize our national team\u2019s competitive readiness and undermine the critical infrastructure and organizational preparations required to host this continental showcase.<\/p>\n

I therefore, make a fervent and sincere appeal to all stakeholders in Kenyan football\u2014FKF, the relevant government authorities, FIFA and CAF, and all individuals who care about the future of our sport. Let us move with urgency and purpose to resolve these matters. Let due process be followed without undue delay.<\/b><\/p>\n

Let investigations be conducted thoroughly but expeditiously. Let\u2019s find solutions that address legitimate concerns while preserving the integrity and competitiveness of our football program. The Football Kenya Federation has weathered challenges before. We have the capacity, experience, and institutional frameworks to navigate this crisis.<\/p>\n

What we need now is leadership that prioritizes swift resolution, transparency in the process, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of Kenyan football. Every day without clarity and direction is a day we lose in our race to prepare our teams adequately for AFCON and other critical competitions.<\/p>\n

To President Hussein Mohammed, I urge your cooperation, regardless of the current circumstances, to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and a transparent process that will ultimately serve the interests of Kenyan football. To those in leadership positions across government and the Federation\u2019s governing structures, I appeal for decisive action that brings clarity and stability.<\/b><\/p>\n

Kenya\u2019s footballing potential is immense. Our talent pool is substantial. Our continental aspirations are legitimate. Yet none of this can be realized if our administrative and institutional frameworks remain unstable. Let us move forward with purpose, speed, and the resolve to emerge from this crisis as a stronger, more united football community.<\/p>\n

The time for action is now. The imperative for resolution is urgent. Let us not let this moment pass without rising to meet the challenge.<\/p>\n
