Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong> <\/span>The Board of Directors of Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has appointed Martin Nang\u2019ole as the substantive Managing Director, following his service in an acting capacity<\/p>\n

Nang\u2019ole has been serving as acting managing director since September 2025 and previously held the position of ICT Director at the company.<\/p>\n

He fully takes over at the helm, at a time the company, which supplies water and sewerage services to Kenya\u2019s capital, faces mounting pressure to improve supply reliability, curb non-revenue water losses and modernise ageing infrastructure.<\/p>\n

In these roles, he has been key in in driving the Nairobi Water\u2019s digital transformation agenda, including the modernisation of key systems to enhance operational efficiency, revenue collection and customer experience.<\/p>\n

Nairobi Water board chairperson, Arnold Karanja said his leadership during the transition period ensured stability in service delivery while advancing strategic reforms across the organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing a comprehensive and transparent recruitment process, the board is pleased to confirm Martin Nang\u2019ole as managing director. His demonstrated leadership, deep institutional knowledge and success in spearheading digital transformation initiatives make him well-suited to lead the company into its next phase,\u201d said Karanja.<\/p>\n

The change in leadership which began last year, followed a court ruling in May 2025 that found no legal basis to retain the then MD Nahashon Muguna beyond the mandatory retirement threshold.<\/p>\n

The board was ordering to open a competitive recruitment process. Muguna later resigned before the scheduled end of his contract and that\u2019s when Nang\u2019ole assumed the role in an acting capacity.<\/p>\n

Nairobi Water held that his appointment follows a rigorous and competitive recruitment process conducted by the board, reaffirming confidence in his vision, capability and track record of performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply honored by the trust placed in me by the board. I remain committed to building on the progress made, leveraging technology and innovation to improve efficiency, enhance customer service and expand access to reliable water and sewerage services for all residents of Nairobi,\u201d said Nang\u2019ole in accepting the appointment.<\/p>\n

As managing director, Nang\u2019ole will focus on key priorities including reducing water leakages, strengthening financial sustainability, accelerating infrastructure development and deepening digital integration across NCWSC\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n

For Nairobi residents and businesses, the immediate test for Nang\u2019ole will be whether the management reshuffle translates into fewer supply disruptions.<\/p>\n
