The collaboration focuses on upskilling underserved groups, including women and non-urban youth, to foster economic growth and stability in the job,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong> <\/span>Career development and recruitment agency BrighterMonday, in collaboration with security sector players in Kenya, has partnered to create youth employment opportunities across the country\u2019s security ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is aimed at strengthening corporate security leadership in Kenya while expanding job opportunities for emerging talent.<\/p>\n<p>It also seeks to increase youth access to work-readiness training and employment, while improving the quality of placements through verified outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>BrighterMonday\u2019s Country Programme Lead and Head of Strategy at TATC, Penina Kimani, said: \u201cKenyan organisations are increasingly required to adopt proactive, intelligence-led, and skills-driven approaches to onboarding talent in the security sector, particularly in the face of evolving threats and operational risks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BrighterMonday will collaborate with security sector associations to place young people aged 18 to 35 into dignified and meaningful work within the security sector in Kenya and across Africa, she noted.<\/p>\n<p>The security sector plays a key role across all segments of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>Organisations are increasingly prioritising crisis preparedness and recognising the link between security and skills development as a way of expanding employment opportunities for emerging talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe security sector is widely recognised as a fundamental pillar for economic growth and stability, acting as a prerequisite for development, investment, and daily operations. It is therefore important to grow in tandem with the expectations of job seekers and employers,\u201d Kimani added.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will also deliver training services to participants and support youth placement through employer linkages and recruitment activities aligned with current security sector job market needs.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Gen-Kazi Programme, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, BrighterMonday Kenya is advancing a broader agenda of youth employment, workforce readiness, and skills development, positioning the security sector as a key contributor to job creation and professional growth in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>Kimani said the collaboration will help ensure that the Kenyan economy supports secure environments that promote business continuity and create employment opportunities for young people.<\/p>\n<p>The Gen-Kazi programme continues to address these challenges by upskilling and reskilling youth aged 18 to 35, with a focus on underserved groups: 70 per cent women, 70 per cent non-urban youth, and 10 per cent persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The security sector in Kenya has been increasingly recognized as vital for economic stability and growth. As threats evolve, organizations are prioritizing proactive approaches to talent acquisition, particularly in security roles. This partnership with BrighterMonday aims to address the skills gap and enhance job readiness among youth, ensuring they meet the demands of a changing job market.
