TikTok has released its Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, revealing that more than 820,000 videos were removed in Kenya between October and December 2025 as the platform intensified efforts to improve online safety and curb harmful content.<\/p>\n
According to the report released on Tuesday, May 19, in Nairobi, TikTok removed 820,552 videos in Kenya for violating its Community Guidelines during the fourth quarter of 2025, pointing out to the scale of moderation activities on the platform.<\/p>\n
The company said 99.9 per cent of the flagged videos were proactively detected and removed before any user reports were made, while 98.4 per cent were taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded.<\/p>\n
TikTok also disclosed that it banned 108,752 accounts in Kenya for breaching platform policies during the same period, with a large number linked to alleged underage users.<\/p>\n
Out of the banned accounts, 93,704 were reported to belong to users below the age of 13, which violates TikTok\u2019s minimum age requirements for account ownership.<\/p>\n
The platform said the move was part of its commitment to protect younger users online and ensure a safer digital environment for its growing community in Kenya and across the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cTikTok continues to enforce its Community Guidelines consistently and at scale, addressing harmful content such as misinformation, hate speech, and other policy violations,\u201d the company said in part in the report.<\/p>\n
Globally, TikTok removed 175,302,085 videos during the quarter, representing approximately 0.5 per cent of all content uploaded on the platform during the period.<\/p>\n
Of the videos removed worldwide, 152,580,933 were detected and taken down using automated moderation technologies, which included artificial intelligence and machine learning processes.<\/p>\n
The company further revealed that 8,360,780 videos were reinstated globally after additional reviews, indicating that some removals were overturned following reassessment processes.<\/p>\n
TikTok recorded a 99.1 per cent proactive removal rate globally, while 93.4 per cent of all violating content was removed within 24 hours of posting.<\/p>\n
The social media giant also said that it continued to enroll more changes in 2025, including publishing more information about TikTok LIVE monetisation enforcement, expanding transparency on comment removals, and improving reporting around advertising moderation and intellectual property enforcement on TikTok Shop.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
