AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Deputy President William Ruto\u2019s allies have promised to bring better law reforms when the \u201cDP ascends to power in 2022\u201d, urging Kenyans to reject the recently launched BBI report.<\/p>\n

The group led by former Machakos senator Jonstone Muthama said President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga-driven proposals ignored the interests of the common man, especially farmers and small business owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have even heard Raila personifying the report as a snake. That could mean it will hurt Kenyans and their children. Reject BBI so that when Ruto becomes president in 2022 we bring you better constitutional reforms,\u201d said Muthama on Sunday in Matungu.<\/p>\n

Muthama cautioned locals of the town of the possibility of being duped with a report that \u201cis laced with sweeteners but full of mischief beneath\u201d.<\/p>\n

Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale said the country did not lack good laws, but merely suffered bad governance.<\/p>\n

Matungu MP Justus Murunga asked Kenyans to be careful while reading the BBI proposals to avoid being \u201cduped into supporting a document meant to benefit a few individuals\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali vowed to lead a campaign to thoroughly question the proposals that bear the risk of dividing the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Butere the previous day, Raila had castigated the DP and his allies for issuing ultimatums on a report they opposed before it was unveiled.<\/p>\n

Ruto has raised concern with the provision in the report recommending the creation of additional seats of the Executive.<\/p>\n
