AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> A team of public health officers has been dispatched to Bahati Girls High School in Bahati, Nakuru County after 68 students and five teachers tested positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n

One of the students who developed complications has been referred to the isolation unit at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital (PGH) for treatment.<\/p>\n

County Health Executive Dr. Kariuki Gichuki said 115 students have been placed in quarantine.<\/p>\n

\u201cA medical team is monitoring the condition of the students and teachers in isolation and quarantine at the school,\u201d read a statement by Gichuki.<\/p>\n

The learners contracted the disease at a time hospitals in Nakuru are reported to be full to capacity.<\/p>\n

Some private facilities are no longer admitting patients, despite the majority being symptomatic.<\/p>\n

Last week, Governor Lee Kinyanjui said that public and private facilities are 80 per cent full.<\/p>\n

Health Ministry data indicates that by November 3, at least 2,874 people in the county had been infected by the virus with 59 deaths.<\/p>\n

At least 36 people have been admitted in hospitals across the county, among them, 1 on supplementary oxygen and five undergoing specialised treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU).<\/p>\n

Nakuru is among counties that have reported a surge in coronavirus cases.<\/p>\n
