Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A total of 114 people have tested positive for covid-19 from a sample size of 2,507 tested over the last 24 hours. This takes the country’s total Covid-19 tally to 94,614.<\/p>\n

The cumulative tests stand at 1,011,025. Out of the 114 cases, 100 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners.<\/p>\n

325 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus bringing the total recoveries in the country to 76,060. Out of this number, 256 were from the Home-Based Care Program, while 69 were discharged from various health facilities from across the country.<\/p>\n

However, 5 patients succumbed, with the death toll now at 1,644.<\/p>\n

“Currently there are 850 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 5,873 on Home Based Isolation and Care. 46 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 24 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 19 on supplemental oxygen. 3 are on the observation,” a statement by the MoH read in part.<\/p>\n

MoH announced that 26 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of whom 22 are in the general wards and 4 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).<\/p>\n

Cases were distributed across the country as follows; Nairobi 68, Kiambu 6, Machakos 5, Mombasa 4, Busia 4, Nyeri 4, Kajiado 4, Bungoma 2, Meru 2, Kisumu 2, while Garissa, Kisii, Nakuru, Marsabit, Uasin Gishu, Kilifi, Nyandarua, Murang\u2019a, Kericho, Vihiga, Taita Taveta, Isiolo and Embu all recorded 1 case each.<\/p>\n

The ministry expressed gratitude to health workers who have continued to render their services despite the nationwide strike called for by medical practitioners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
