Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A police constable was on Tuesday, December 29 evening, arrested after shooting his friend in Nairobi’s Westlands area.<\/p>\n

The officer who is based at Gigiri’s Nyari Police Patrol Base is alleged to have shot his companion with whom he was chewing miraa.<\/p>\n

“With an AK47 rifle, the officer had been deployed as a station guard moments before he was joined by his regular friend, and who frequents at the patrol base located in Nairobi’s Westlands area,” a statement from the DCI disclosed.<\/p>\n

Hours after, a blast of shots was heard where the two were located.<\/p>\n

The officer-in-charge at the base rushed to the scene to find out what was happening and found the lifeless body of the victim at the driver’s seat of his Toyota Probox.<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigations showed that the officer fired 10 rounds of ammunition in the incident.<\/p>\n

The officer turned murder-suspect was disarmed and arrested.<\/p>\n

Detectives have launched investigations to establish the motive of the shooting by the constable.<\/p>\n

In a separate incident, on Tuesday, December 29, police gunned down two armed and dangerous criminals.<\/p>\n

The suspects are said to have snatched a firearm from an officer who was on duty, the previous evening.<\/p>\n

“Also recovered from the second suspect was a Jericho Pistol. DCI thanks members of the public who volunteered information and helped our officers in identifying the suspects,” the officers shared.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
