Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>New details have emerged describing the last moments before Deputy President William Ruto’s staffer David Too died after jumping into a dam in Uasin Gishu.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media, a witness narrated how he attempted to save Too from drowning.<\/p>\n

The witness, a neighbour identified as Elkana Kirwa, revealed that he was walking to work when he heard someone screaming.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was walking to work and I heard someone screaming. I rushed to the dam and I found him calling for help while swimming towards one of the walls.<\/p>\n

“I asked someone living near the dam to rush to the scene with a rope. A young man arrived with the rope, and we threw it to him in an attempt to pull the officer out, but he drowned. We couldn\u2019t help because none of us can swim,\u201d stated Kirwa.<\/p>\n

Too’s brother, Aaron Sing\u2019oei, suspected that he killed himself due to pressure after he lost a camera under his watch.<\/p>\n

Sing’oei further told the press that he suspected that his brother jumped into the damn immediately after he abruptly ended a phone call they were having Friday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came home on Tuesday because we had a family meeting. He said a camera that was in his possession then was stolen and that he had reported the matter to the police. It is unfortunate that he took his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe called me in the morning at 8:57 am and told me that he was under pressure. He then hang up. When I called back, he did not answer. I only discovered later that he had taken his life,” explained the brother.<\/p>\n

When the camera disappeared, Too reported the matter to Kiambaa police station but after an initial assessment, the police did not make any arrest or release further statements.<\/p>\n

Too jumped into Ngeria dam in Uasin Gishu on Friday morning, January 1, three days after visiting his family.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
