Tim, the famous\u00a0 Amboseli National Park tusker, died on February 4, aged 50 years according to the Kenya Wildlife Service.<\/p>\n
While announcing the death of the elephant in a press release, the Kenya Wildlife Service noted that Big Tim will be stuffed and preserved at National Museums of Kenya \u201cThe body is on the way to National Museums of Kenya in Nairobi for taxidermists to prepare it for preservation for education and exhibition purposes,\u201d KWS said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Big Tim is one of Africa\u2019s big tusk elephants that roam in a vast, remote and wilderness of Southern Kenya.\u00a0According to KWS, the great patriarch was,\u00a0 some years ago, struck on the head with a large rock and its ear pierced with a spear whose tip got embedded in his shoulder but was treated.<\/p>\n
KWS mourned the great patriarch, terming him as an unusual male, who unlike other males, that leave the herd when they reach sexual maturity, was always in the company of females and their families.\u201cBut Tim was always welcome to travel in the company of females and their families. He was unassuming and laid back.<\/p>\n
