Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Thursday, January 14, announced new fuel prices.<\/p>\n

The new fuel prices will be in force from Friday, January 15, to Sunday, February 14, meaning that motorists will now dig deeper into their pockets to buy fuel.<\/p>\n

In a press release, EPRA revealed that the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will increase significantly.<\/p>\n

“Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows :<\/p>\n

“Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene increase by Ksh 0.17 per litre, Ksh 4.57 per litre and Ksh 3.56 per litre respectively,” read part of the press release.<\/p>\n

The new fuel prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol Ksh106.99, Diesel Ksh96.40, Kerosene Ksh87.12.<\/p>\n

The previous fuel prices retailed at Ksh106.82 for Super Petrol, Ksh91.82 for Diesel and Ksh83.56 for Kerosene in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

In Mombasa, Super Petrol will retail at Ksh104.60, Ksh94.01 for Diesel and Ksh84.75 for Kerosene.<\/p>\n

Nakuru’s new fuel prices will be Ksh106.69 for Super Petrol, Diesel will retail at Ksh96.31 while Kerosene will go for Ksh87.08.<\/p>\n

In Eldoret, the new fuel prices that will take effect as from midnight will see Super Petrol go for Ksh107.62, Diesel for Ksh97.23 and Kerosene for Ksh88.00.<\/p>\n

EPRA revealed that the changes in January’s prices are as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increasing by 1.51 % from the US $ 318.71 per cubic metre in November 2020 to the US $ 323.52 per cubic metre in December 2020.<\/p>\n

For the sharp increase in Diesel EPRA explained that it was occasioned by the increase of 13.05 % from the US $ 293.88 per cubic metre to the US $ 332.22 per cubic metre and Kerosene increasing by 9.27 % from the US $ 277.27 per cubic metre to the US $ 302.97 per cubic metre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
