AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Celebrated radio host Deejay Joe Mfalme has quit\u00a0Capital FM<\/em>\u00a0after 12 years.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the celebrated mix master announced that he had exited the uptown radio station after over 10 years of service.<\/p>\n

He thanked the media house for according him the opportunity, and explained that it was time for him to expand his horizons.<\/p>\n

“I would like to thank the\u00a0Capital FM<\/em> Kenya family for giving an opportunity to a young man from Meru who had dreams and ambitions of entertaining people through the art of deejaying.<\/p>\n

“I would like to thank the\u00a0Capital FM<\/em> Kenya family for giving an opportunity to a young man from Meru who had dreams and ambitions of entertaining people through the art of deejaying.<\/p>\n

“I have made some of my best memories working for\u00a0Capital FM<\/em>\u00a0Kenya and I will eternally be grateful to them for the growth and opportunity awarded to me. It is time to expand my horizons,” he stated.<\/p>\n

During his tenure at the station, Mfalme served as a host of the\u00a0Hits Not Homework<\/em>\u00a0show that wrapped up in December 2020.<\/p>\n

The show aired\u00a0every Monday to Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Hit Not Homework<\/em>\u2019s targeted the\u00a018-24 demographic, most of whom tuned in to listen to music, relatable conversations and the famous \u2018Top 9 at 9\u2019 chart.<\/p>\n

The show was replaced by a more mature version dubbed\u00a0The Hype<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Since his career took off more than a decade ago, Mfalme has become a force to reckon with after his offering moved beyond the studio.<\/p>\n

He had a chance to play at the United States 144th Military anniversary in Kenya where he pocketed the money after playing for only three hours.<\/p>\n

“Making such an amount is not so regular, that comes around the New Year’s eve or extremely high-end events.<\/p>\n

“I have done tours in the US and they do not pay as much. This is\u00a0because the events are organised by Kenyan promoters and are largely made of Kenyan audiences,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Mfalme’s big break\u00a0was in\u00a02010 when he won Pilsner Mfalme Hottest Media DJ.<\/p>\n
