{"id":21819,"date":"2021-01-31T21:24:28","date_gmt":"2021-01-31T21:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=21819"},"modified":"2021-01-31T21:24:28","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T21:24:28","slug":"gsu-boss-killed-in-kapedo-buried","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/community\/gsu-boss-killed-in-kapedo-buried","title":{"rendered":"GSU boss killed in Kapedo buried"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> The General Service Unit (GSU) commander killed by bandits in Kapedo was buried on Saturday in an emotional send-off in Busia County.<\/p>\n<p>Santulino Tebakol Emadau, who was\u00a0until his death the GSU Deputy Operations Commander,\u00a0was killed in an ambush by bandits moments after a meeting with local leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The burial in Aciit village, Teso South was attended by senior officers in the National Police Service and politicians.<\/p>\n<p>Emadau was eulogised as a dependable, dedicated and experienced officer.<\/p>\n<p>GSU Commandant Douglas Kanja told mourners he sent Emadau to Kapedo to broker peace. \u201cI am the one who sent him to Kapedo&#8230; to go and meet leaders in that region with the view of getting long lasting solution to the insecurity,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, through his deputy Edward Mbugua, said the officer left a mark that will be remembered in the GSU.<\/p>\n<p>He promised to have one of Emadau\u2019s sons recruited in the Police Service, as requested by widow Sarah Emadau.<\/p>\n<p>Baringo County Commissioner Henry Wafula regretted that Emadau was killed on a peace mission.
