{"id":22489,"date":"2021-02-12T20:56:32","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T20:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=22489"},"modified":"2021-02-12T20:56:32","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T20:56:32","slug":"ingwes-rupia-named-fkf-premier-league-player-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/sport\/ingwes-rupia-named-fkf-premier-league-player-of-the-month","title":{"rendered":"Ingwe\u2019s Rupia named FKF Premier League Player of the Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> AFC Leopards striker Elvis Rupia is the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) player of the month.<\/p>\n<p>Rupia was on Friday named the player of the month for his exemplary performances in December at the club\u2019s training ground at Gems Cambridge in Karen Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>The Ingwe danger man beat Kariobangi Sharks\u2019 striker Eric Kapaito and KCB\u2019s goalkeeper Joseph Okoth to bag the award which comes with a trophy and Sh50000.<\/p>\n<p>The former Wazito FC striker began the season on a high note by netting six goals in four matches played in the month.<\/p>\n<p>He scored the winner in Leopards\u2019 2-1 victory over Tusker on November 11, before netting all the two goals in Ingwe\u2019s 2-0 win over newcomers Bidco United on December 6.<\/p>\n<p>He wrapped up the month in style by bagging the season\u2019s first hat trick in a dominant 3-0 win over Sofapaka on December 12.<\/p>\n<p>However, Rupia did not find the net as Leopards shockingly lost to Western Stima in their last game of the month.<\/p>\n<p>KCB\u2018s Okoth emerged second in the player of the month race due to his outstanding performance in between the sticks.
