AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> 181 individuals have tested positive for\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0from a sample size of 5,577 tested in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

This takes Kenya’s cumulative confirmed positive cases to 105,648.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Saturday,\u00a0February 27, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,295,556.<\/p>\n

From the\u00a0positive cases\u00a0recorded in the last 24 hours, 159 are Kenyans while 22 are\u00a0foreigners.112 are males while 69 are females.<\/p>\n

The youngest is a two-month-old child while the oldest is 86\u00a0years.<\/p>\n

88 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.\u00a0Total recoveries now stand at 86,609.<\/p>\n

Sadly, one\u00a0patient\u00a0has\u00a0succumbed to the disease, pushing Kenya’s\u00a0cumulative fatality to 1,854.<\/p>\n

A total of 347 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,430 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.<\/p>\n

59 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 25 of whom are on ventilatory support and 29 on supplemental oxygen. 5 patients are on\u00a0observation.<\/p>\n

Another 15 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 14 of them in the general wards and One in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).<\/p>\n

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 104 cases in Nairobi are from Dagoretti North (21), Lang\u2019ata and Westlands (16) cases each, Starehe (8), Embakasi West (6), Makadara and Mathare (5) cases each, Embakasi East, Kasarani and Kibra (4) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi South and Kamukunji (3) cases each, Embakasi Central and Embakasi North (2) cases each, Roysambu and Ruaraka (1) case each.<\/p>\n

In Kiambu the 20 cases are from Ruiru (6), Githunguri, Kiambaa and Kiambu Town (3) cases each, Kikuyu (2), Juja, Kabete and Thika (1) case each. In Busia the 11 cases are from Teso North (8) and Matayos (3).<\/p>\n

In Nakuru the 9 cases are from Nakuru East (7), Naivasha and Njoro (1) case each. In Kisumu the 5 cases are from Kisumu Central (3), Kisumu East and Nyakach (1) case each.<\/p>\n

In Mombasa all the 5 cases are from Mvita, while in Machakos the\u20195 cases are from Athi River (4) and Machakos Town (1). In Taita Taveta the 4 cases are all from Voi, while in Turkana the 4 cases are all from Turkana West. In Embu the 2 cases are from Manyatta and Mbeere North (1) case each.
