AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> 345 individuals have tested positive for\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0from a sample size of 5,550 tested in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

This takes Kenya’s cumulative confirmed positive cases to 106,470.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Tuesday,\u00a0March 2, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the total tests conducted so far are 1,306,601.<\/p>\n

From the\u00a0positive cases\u00a0recorded in the last 24 hours, 294 are Kenyans while 51\u00a0are\u00a0foreigners.\u00a0The youngest is a two-month-old baby while the oldest is 93 years old.<\/p>\n

143 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. 121\u00a0are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care while 22 are from various health facilities.<\/p>\n

Sadly, four patients have\u00a0succumbed to the disease, pushing Kenya’s\u00a0cumulative fatality to 1,863.<\/p>\n

A total of 378\u00a0patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,494\u00a0patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 58 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 23\u00a0of whom are on ventilatory support and 29\u00a0on supplemental oxygen. 6\u00a0patients are on observation.<\/p>\n

Another 14\u00a0patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all\u00a0of them in the general wards. No\u00a0patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).<\/p>\n

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 198, Kiambu 44, Nakuru 20, Mombasa 12, Kisumu 10, Kajiado 9, Machakos 8, Nyandarua 7, Nyeri 5, Laikipia 5, Murang’a 4, Busia 3, Garissa 3, Uasin Gishu\u00a03, Embu 2, Kilifi 2, Meru 2, Narok 2, Siaya 2, Bungoma 1, Kisii 1, Makueni 1 and Nandi 1.<\/p>\n

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 198 cases in Nairobi are from Dagoretti North and Westlands (23) cases each, Lang’ata
\n(19), Embakasi Central (15), Embakasi West and Kibra (14) cases each, Kamukunji (12), Kasarani (11), Ruaraka (10), Embakasi East, Embakasi South, Makadara and Mathare (9) cases each, Dagoretti South (7), Embakasi North (6), Starehe (5) and Roysambu (3).<\/p>\n

In Kiambu the 44 cases are from Thika (10), Kiambu Town (8), Kikuyu and Ruiru (7) cases each, Juja (4), Kabete (3), Gatundu
\nSouth and Kiambaa (2) case each, Githunguri (1). In Nakuru the 20 cases are from Nakuru East (9), Nakuru West (5), Njoro (2), Kuresoi North, Molo, Nakuru North and Rongai (1) case each.<\/p>\n

In Mombasa the 12 cases are from Nyali (4), -lomvu and Mvita (3) cases each, Kisauni (2). In Kisumu all the 10 cases are from Kisumu Central. In Kajiado the 9 cases are from Kajiado North (6), Kajiado East (2) and Kajiado Central (1).<\/p>\n

In Machakos the 8 cases are from Athi River (7) and Machakos Town (1). In Nyandarua the 7 cases are from 01 Kalou (4) and Kinangop (3). In Nyeri the 5 cases are from Nyeri Central (4) and Kieni East (1).<\/p>\n

In Laikipia all the 5 cases are all from Laikipia East. In Murang’a the 4 cases are from Kigumo, Kiharu, Maragua and Mathioya (1) case each. In Busia the 3 cases are from Teso North (2) and Samia (1).<\/p>\n

In Garissa the 3 cases are from Garissa Town, while in Uasin Gishu the 3 cases are from Ainabkoi. The 2 cases in Embu are from Mbeere South and Manyatta (1) case each, the 2 cases in Kilifi are from Malindi and Rabai (1) case each, the 2 cases in Meru are all from Imenti North, the 2 cases in Narok are from Narok North and Transmara West (1) case each and the 2 cases in Siaya are from Bondo and Ugunja (1) case each.<\/p>\n

The case in Bungoma is from Kanduyi, the case in Kisii is from Kitutu Chache South, the case in Makueni is from Makueni and the case in Nandi is from Emgwen.<\/p>\n
