AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> 633 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 5,193 tested in the last 24 hours. The number is the highest recorded since November 2020\u00a0when Kenya was reporting\u00a0cases of more than 900 cases daily.<\/p>\n

This takes Kenya’s cumulative confirmed positive cases to 108,362.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Saturday, March 6, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,327,999.<\/p>\n

From the positive cases\u00a0recorded in the last 24 hours, 554 are Kenyans while 79 are foreigners. 384 are males while 249 are females.<\/p>\n

The youngest is a one-year-old baby while the eldest is 85 years.<\/p>\n

374 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. Total recoveries now stand at 87,550.<\/p>\n

Sadly, one patient\u00a0has\u00a0succumbed to the disease pushing the\u00a0cumulative fatality to 1,874.<\/p>\n

There are 483 patients currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,389 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.<\/p>\n

69 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 26 of whom are on ventilator support and 33 on supplemental oxygen.<\/p>\n

10 patients are on observation. Another 18 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in the general wards. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).<\/p>\n

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi had 430, Kiambu 58, Nakuru 44, Kajiado 19, Migori 17, Uasin Gishu 14, Mombasa 7, Machakos 7, Trans Nzoia 5, Kisumu 4, Kilifi 3, Kakamega 3, Makueni 3, Bungoma 2,\u00a0Kitui 2, Narok 2, Nyandarua 2.<\/p>\n

Nyeri, Siaya, Taita Taveta, turkana, Homa Bay, Laikipia, Lamu, Meru, Murang’a, Kericho and Kisii all reported one case each.<\/p>\n
