AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> A total of 829 people\u00a0tested positive\u00a0for Covid-19\u00a0out of a sample size of 6,239\u00a0tested in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

According to a statement signed by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Thursday, March 11,\u00a0the total confirmed positive cases\u00a0stand at 111,185.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, one\u00a0patient\u00a0succumbed to the disease, pushing the total cumulative fatalities to 1,899. The Ministry of Health Conveyed its sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones to the disease.<\/p>\n

The first shots of the Covid-19 vaccines being administered in Kenya on March 5, 2021.<\/p>\n

The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,353,126.\u00a0Of the newly reported cases, 775\u00a0are Kenyans, while 54\u00a0are foreigners. 490\u00a0are males and 339\u00a0are females.<\/p>\n

The youngest is a one-year-old\u00a0baby, while the oldest is 87\u00a0years.<\/p>\n

91 patients have recovered from the disease, 44\u00a0from various health facilities, while 47\u00a0are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care. Total recoveries now stand at 87,994.<\/p>\n

A total of 566\u00a0patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,694 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.<\/p>\n

91 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 22 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 60 on supplemental oxygen. A total of 9 patients are on observation.<\/p>\n

Another 28\u00a0patients are separately on supplementary oxygen all of whom are in the general wards. 2 patients are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).<\/p>\n

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 407, Kiambu 82, Machakos 81, Meru 49, Nakuru 43, Uasin Gishu 26, Busia 20,<\/p>\n

Embu 18, Mombasa 17, Kajiado 14, Tharaka Nithi 9, Laikipia 8,\u00a0Nyandarua 8, Kakamega 7, Kilifi 7, Bungoma 5, Kisumu 5, Homa Bay 4, Murang’a 3, Makueni 3, Kisii 2, Kitui 2, Migori 2, Nandi 2, Nyeri 2, Trans Nzoia 1, Vihiga 1 and Elgeyo Marakwet 1.<\/p>\n

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 407 cases in Nairobi are from Lang’ata (60), Westlands (53), Dagoretti North (40), Starehe (36), Kasarani (23), Embakasi West (21), Embakasi South (20), Embakasi Central and Kibra (19) cases each, Makadara (18), Kamukunji (17), Dagoretti South and Roysambu (15) cases each, Ruaraka (14), Mathare (13), Embakasi East and Embakasi North (12) cases each.<\/p>\n

In Kiambu the 82 cases are from Ruiru (20), Thika (13), Kiambu Town (12), Githunguri and Kikuyu (8) cases each, Kiambaa (7), Lari (5), Juja (3), Dagoretti North, Kabete and Limuru (2) cases each.<\/p>\n

In Machakos the 81 cases are from Machakos Town (33),<\/p>\n

Matunguiu (32), Athi River (9), Yatta (4), Mwala (2) and Kangundo\u00a0(1).In Meru the 49 cases are from lgembe Central (40), Imenti North (7), Buuri and Imenti Central (1) case each.<\/p>\n

In Nakuru the 43 cases are from Nakuru West (11), Nakuru East\u00a0(10), Giigil and Naivasha (6) cases each, Njoro and Subukia (3) cases each, Molo and Nakuru North (2) cases each. In Uasin Gishu the 26 cases are from Ainabkoi (16), Turbo (6), Kesses (2), Kapseret and Moiben (1) case each.<\/p>\n

In Busia the 20 cases are from Matayos (18), Samia and Teso North (1) case each. In Embu all the 18 cases are from \u2022Manyatta. In Mombasa the 17 cases are from Mvita (6), Jomvu and Nyali\u00a0(3) cases each, Changamwe and Likoni (2) cases each, Kisauni (1). In Kajiado the 14 cases are from Kajiado Central and Kajiado North (6) cases each, Kajiado East (2).<\/p>\n

In Tharaka Nithi all the 9 cases are from Chuka. In Laikipia the 8 cases are from Laikipia East (7) and Laikipia West (1). In Nyandarua the 8 cases are from Kinangop (7) and 01 Kalou (1).<\/p>\n

In Kakamega the 7 cases are from Likuyani and Lugari (2) cases each, Khwisero, Lurambi and Navakholo (1) case each. In Kilifi the 7 cases are from Malindi (3), Kaloleni and Kiiifi North (2) cases each. In Bungoma the 5 cases are from Bumula, Kabuchai, Kanduyi, Kimilili and Sirisia (1) case each, while in Kisumu all the 5 cases are from Kisumu Central.<\/p>\n

In Homa Bay the 4 cases are from Homa Bay Town (3) and Ndhiwa (1)<\/p>\n

In Murang’a the cases are from Maragua (2) and\u00a0Kiharu (1).<\/p>\n

In Makueni the 3 cases are from Kibwezi East, Kilome and Makueni (1) case each.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 2 cases in Kisii are all from Kitutu Chache South, the 2 cases in Kitui are all from Mwingi\u2022 Central, the 2 cases in Migori are from Nyatike and Rongo (1) case each, the 2 cases in Nandi are all from Emgwen, the 2 cases in Nyeri are from Mathira East and Tetu (1) case each.
