AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> A journalist and National Lands Commission official who was found dead\u00a0on Monday, March 15, was supposed to appear for cross-examination at the Milimani law courts.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Itumbi Wambua was one of the witnesses in a case involving the alleged\u00a0embezzlement\u00a0of Ksh122 million from the Government Advertising Agency (GAA) implicating\u00a0top government officials including former PS Sammy Itemere and Lugari MP Ayub Savula.<\/p>\n

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo who doubled up as Wambua’s lawyer indicated that she was supposed to visit him on Saturday to prepare for her testimony.<\/p>\n

“She was also my relative and so she had promised to share her problems with me. However, that did not happen because she was kidnapped on Friday,” Maanzo told the\u00a0Nation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On the said Friday, Wambua was\u00a0dropped at her workplace by her husband Joseph Komu.<\/p>\n

Komu, a Ministry of Agriculture official, said he parked the car in a yard that was convenient for the couple.<\/p>\n

\u201cI picked the car at around 11 am and went to the garage where I discovered my wife\u2019s handbag and her phone. After the car was fixed, I drove to her office to drop the items but was shocked when her colleagues told me she had not been seen that day,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Kilimani boss Fatuma Hadi, on Monday, March 15, indicated that her body was found at\u00a0Ngong Forest on Saturday, March 13.<\/p>\n

Detectives suspect\u00a0that she might have been strangled due\u00a0to the bruises on her neck. She also had bruises on her legs and arms.<\/p>\n

In addition, they suspect that she could have been\u00a0tortured and killed\u00a0elsewhere before her body was dumped in the forest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
