The youngest is<br \/>\na two &#8211; month &#8211; old infant while the oldest is 96 .<\/p>\n<p>CS Kagwe noted that the country is experiencing a steady increase in the\u00a0cases due to the third wave.\u00a0He\u00a0said that\u00a0200 people have succumbed to Covid-19\u00a0since January as he\u00a0reiterated President Uhuru Kenyatta&#8217;s directives on Covid-19 protocols while issuing new emergency measures including:<\/p>\n<article data-align=\"center\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kenyans.co.ke\/files\/styles\/article_inner_mobile\/public\/images\/media\/vaccine%20arrive.JPG?itok=BwlpIIWU\" alt=\"The first batch of Covid-19 vaccine arriving in Kenya on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. \u200b\" width=\"470\" height=\"298\" \/><\/div>\n<div>The first batch of Covid-19 vaccine arriving in Kenya on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>1) Counties immediately to\u00a0convene county task forces\u00a0to assess containment measures of the virus within the region.<\/p>\n<p>2) Counties to open all isolation facilities in preparedness for immediate use.<\/p>\n<p>3) Counties to enforce all public health measures and penalize those flouting the rules.<\/p>\n<p>4) No feasting to be allowed at funerals and family members should not exceed 100. All funerals\u00a0must happen within 72 hours.<\/p>\n<p>5) The taskforce should ensure homebased isolation and homebased care facilities\u00a0for covid-19 patients are\u00a0enhanced.<\/p>\n<p>6) All\u00a0hospitals to quickly expand ICU facilities and\u00a0deploy resources to the various hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are urging our hospitals to quickly expand their ICU facilities. We have asked the county taskforce to identify areas we can convert to isolation facilities,&#8221; he stated<\/p>\n<p>7) Law enforcement officers to ensure the Covid-19 directives are adhered to by all social events. He added that some joints within counties were flouting the regulations by staying open past curfew hours.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-ad article-ad-3\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1507752217570-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;There were accusations that some people with influence were influencing joints to remain open past curfew,&#8221; Kagwe stated.<\/p>\n<p>8) Kenyans above 60 years will be included in the ongoing first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination<\/p>\n<p>CS Kagwe urged Kenyans to cooperate with the guidelines in order to ensure that the country overcomes the deadly global virus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our action will determine how fast we sink or swim as an intertwined people. I\u00a0urge Kenyans to quickly revamp our resolve and\u00a0be determined to fight the third wave,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-ad article-ad-4-mobile\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1583453586472-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the health ministry, a total of\u00a020,000 people have been vaccinated since last week.
