{"id":24386,"date":"2021-03-18T20:23:41","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T20:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=24386"},"modified":"2021-03-18T20:23:41","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T20:23:41","slug":"over-5000-nys-applicants-shortlisted-for-job-interviews","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/community\/over-5000-nys-applicants-shortlisted-for-job-interviews","title":{"rendered":"Over 5,000 NYS Applicants Shortlisted for Job Interviews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced candidates who have been\u00a0shortlisted for\u00a0different job positions on March 18, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Qualified candidates are set to go\u00a0for interviews at NYS Headquarters Nairobi, Thika Road\u00a0with different roles having varying dates starting\u00a0from March 29 to April 19, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The notice made to the public indicates that there are 5164 candidates who are expected to attend the scheduled interviews.<\/p>\n<article data-align=\"center\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kenyans.co.ke\/files\/styles\/article_inner_mobile\/public\/images\/media\/NYS-headquarters.jpg?itok=qR67LINU\" alt=\"NYS headquarters along Thika Road, Nairobi\" width=\"470\" height=\"265\" \/><\/div>\n<div>NYS headquarters along Thika Road, Nairobi<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>The 2020 applicants are advised to confirm whether they have been shortlisted and take note of the dates assigned for the interviews.<\/p>\n<p>All the candidates are requested to carry with them an original National Identity (ID) card, academic professional certificates and any other testimonials.<\/p>\n<p>The government also notes that all candidates will be expected to adhere to Covid-19 protocols.<\/p>\n<p>The National Youth Service\u00a0had advertised seven hundred and twenty-eight (728) positions in various cadres open to all Kenyan youths in the month of August 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The largest shortlisted candidates are 517 for the driver&#8217;s jobs, plant mechanics has 317, motor vehicle mechanics 366, the plant operators 746, plumber building technology 218, 43 carpenters, 442 electricians and 38 welders\/fabricators interview candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The list also has 24 spray painters, 37 motor vehicle electricians, 243 agricultural assistance, 229 cook, 240 bandsmen, 246 waiters, 113 tailors, 369 housekeepers, 184 secretaries, 126 accountants, 385 ICT, 281 supply chain management, candidates bringing the total shortlisted candidates to 5164.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates after the interviews will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms.<\/p>\n<p>The government has been keen on ensuring jobless Kenyan youths secure jobs especially the ones that require technical skills.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-ad article-ad-3\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1507752217570-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>During the 2019-2020 budget, the government allocated Ksh13.2 billion for the National Youth Service which has so far employed thousands of youths.<\/p>\n<p>The program also takes in volunteers who go through training and get equipped with technical skills which helps them secure jobs from other government institutions and\u00a0the private sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AfricaPress-Kenya: The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced candidates who have been\u00a0shortlisted for\u00a0different job positions on March 18, 2021.
