Reports indicate that the border area is unmonitored.<\/p>\n<article data-align=\"center\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kenyans.co.ke\/files\/styles\/article_inner_mobile\/public\/images\/media\/Uhuru%20Magufuli.JPG?itok=HNoRf3c2\" alt=\"President Uhuru Kenyatta (right) with his late Tanzanian counterpart John Magufuli at a previous press conference in 2017. \" width=\"470\" height=\"231\" \/><\/div>\n<div>President Uhuru Kenyatta (right) with his late Tanzanian counterpart John Magufuli at a previous press conference in 2017.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>A section of the clergy in Tanzania\u00a0stated that scores of Kenyans throng church services on Sundays and do not\u00a0adhere to the stipulated guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They don&#8217;t adhere to the stipulated guidelines such as wearing of masks, use of sanitisers hence they become super-spreaders of the virus,&#8221; one pastor noted.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in Kajiado County also expressed concerns and urged the government to relax the restrictions by reopening the churches to curb the trend.<\/p>\n<p>President Uhuru&#8217;s restrictions have elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans who have either\u00a0criticised or\u00a0lauded the government in its quest to curb the third wave of the virus.<\/p>\n<p>From revising the curfew hours to ordering the closure of bars and churches, Uhuru urged Kenyans to adhere to the new directives in order to fight against the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That fully conscious that 70% of Kenya&#8217;s reported cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the counties of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu and Nakuru, these counties are individually and collectively declared a disease-infected area,&#8221; Uhuru stated.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the Tanzanian government has been on the spot over its resolve in disregarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The late Tanzanian President John Magufuli was known for downplaying the severity of the\u00a0virus within the country.<\/p>\n<p>Tanzania stopped sharing Covid-19 updates to the World Health Organisation as Magufuli jeered at the restrictions imposed by other countries in a bid to fight the virus.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-ad article-ad-3\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1507752217570-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Soon after, various delegates within the\u00a0Tanzanian government died due to the virus among them Zanzibar&#8217;s\u00a0first Vice President Seif Sharif Hamad.<\/p>\n<p>This prompted Magufuli to\u00a0change\u00a0tune\u00a0and in his final statement, he urged his people to adhere to the protocols and also wear masks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AfricaPress-Kenya: Kenyans have employed a new strategy in a bid to beat the new directives\u00a0issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, March 26.
