Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A police officer shot and killed a man when he came to the rescue of his younger sister who was being assaulted by the said officer for filming what appeared to be an undercover mission in Mountain View Estate, Nairobi County.<\/p>\n

Four police officers raided the home of Evelyn Onziere, the man\u2019s mother, in search of documents authorizing their Wines and Spirits business.<\/p>\n

After one of the officers realized their mission was being filmed, he rushed to snatch the phone from the young girl, slapping her in the process.<\/p>\n

Nicholaus Lifede is said to have just arrived home when he saw his younger sister being assaulted by the officer.<\/p>\n

Upon questioning the officer, he was also hit and fell to the ground after which he fled with the officer threatening to shoot him.<\/p>\n

“When he arrived, he went to the officer and asked him why he was hitting the girl and taking her phone. The policeman then hit him so hard that he fell to the ground. He then took him outside the gate and shot him,” narrated Lifede’s mother.<\/p>\n

He was then rushed to a nearby health facility where the medics refused to attend to him until they got a police report explaining the gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

“I rushed to Kabete Poice Station but when I came back his condition had gotten worse. The OCS offered to take us to Kenyatta National Hospital,” stated Onziere.<\/p>\n

Lifede succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the ICU for two days.<\/p>\n

Dagoretti Sub-County Police Commander Francis Wahome confirmed the incident stating that undercover officers had arrested a man with bhang who had led them to Onziere’s business premises.<\/p>\n

Wahome stated that the officers had an altercation with a customer which had attracted a crowd. According to him, the officers were trying to disperse the crowd when one person was shot.<\/p>\n

The family demanded justice stating that officers had a habit of coming to the area and harassing business owners demanding bribes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
