Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday night, April 15, acknowledged that he had been humiliated under the Jubilee Government headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.<\/p>\n

In an interview on Citizen TV, Ruto stated that very many Deputy Presidents are fought by people close to the sitting President, adding that if he got a chance to be president, he would not do the same to his own DP.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is an unfortunate situation. Given an opportunity, I will not allow my DP to be humiliated the way former DPs have been humiliated and the way I have been humiliated. I will not allow,” the DP declared.<\/p>\n

During the second term as the DP, Ruto disclosed that there were individuals who had tried to humiliate him by denying him access to the jubilee headquarters or cutting his budget, all in a bid to make him resign.<\/p>\n

“There are people who believe they can push me to resign but I want to remind them that I was elected. I am not going to give them the opportunity to celebrate their effort to push me out of government,” he affirmed.<\/p>\n

The DP reiterated that he had been respectful to President Uhuru Kenyatta throughout their term.<\/p>\n

“I asked the president to produce information showing what I had done in private and in public to disrespect him or to elevated myself beyond what my duties are and the president was very candid with me, he told me there is no such information.<\/p>\n

The director of intelligence was there and he also did not produce any information on the same,” he added.<\/p>\n

The DP also responded to questions of why he had decided to take the sputnik vaccine rather than the government approved Atrazeneca saying that getting the vaccine was the most important thing and not what type was taken.<\/p>\n

He added that the debate surrounding the vaccine he had taken would only introduce a cartel mentality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose saying government bought a cheaper vaccine, are they saying the government bought a lower quality vaccine? They are actually insulting the government. The most important thing now is to get the vaccines. I have no problem with Sputnik that has been banned,” he said.<\/p>\n

Asked why he was not present to take the vaccine with the rest of the cabinet members, the DP said that someone could have forgotten to pass him the invitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the president decided that it was time for himself and the Cabinet to take the vaccine, I think inadvertently someone forgot to invite me and I was not available for the exercise,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
