Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>1,027 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours out of a sample size of 7,184. The positivity rate now stands at 14.3 percent.<\/p>\n

The total number of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in Kenya now stands at 151,287. The cumulative tests that have been conducted so far now stand at 1,599,668.<\/p>\n

Of the cases announced today, 1,009 are Kenyans while 18 are foreigners. 600 are male and 427 are female. The youngest is a two-year-old baby while the oldest is 110 years.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, 20 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours pushing the cumulative fatalities to 2,463.<\/p>\n

8 of the deaths occurred on diverse dates within the last one month while 12 are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits.<\/p>\n

At the same time, 332 patients have recovered, 267 of those are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care, while 115 are from various health facilities.<\/p>\n

The total number of recoveries now stands at 101,362. Of this, 73598 are from home based care and isolation while 27,764 are from various health facilities.<\/p>\n

A total of 1,65 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 5,798 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.<\/p>\n

264 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 55 of whom are on ventilatory support and 161 on supplemental oxygen. 48 patients are on observation.<\/p>\n

Experts advise that opening of windows to allow for ventilation curbs the spread of Covid-19.<\/p>\n

“People are much more likely to become infected in a room with windows that can’t be opened or lacking any ventilation system,” they stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
