Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A number of guests have been paying the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga a visit at his home since he left the hospital – and Kenyans have taken notice.<\/p>\n

Many of the guests have brought gifts and get well messages to the former prime minister.<\/p>\n

Kisumu Deputy Governor, Mathews Owili and his counterpart from Kajiado County on Sunday, April 18, visited Raila to check up on him as he continues to recover from Covid-19.<\/p>\n

\u201cReceived get well messages and gifts from the Deputy Governors\u2019 forum that were delivered by the Deputy Governors of Kisumu and Kajiado. Asanteni,\u201d Raila shared on Tweeter.<\/p>\n

A section of Kenyans have been talking…with the discussions climaxing in the social media.<\/p>\n

Political aspirant Alinur Mohammed asked Raila to consider talking to President Uhuru Kenyatta on behalf of Kenyans as the suffering was becoming unbearable.<\/p>\n

\u201cBaba Kenyans are suffering. We are tired,\u201d Alinur said.<\/p>\n

Other Kenyans said that they had missed Raila\u2019s dedication to fighting corruption when opposition was still opposition.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut nowadays you only care about who brings you gifts. Where is the opposition that at least challenged this corrupt government so that they could care for mwananchi? Collins Owuor questioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cBaba I miss the days you were true to the spirit of democracy and equality… Ooh God help us. Cleophas Tum said while supporting Owuor\u2019s view.<\/p>\n

Earlier on, Kenyan artist Brian Robert Ouko alias Khaligraph Jones in an open letter asked Raila to use his access to the State House to pass a message to president Uhuru.<\/p>\n

The Award winning musicians expressed his disappointment at the opposition…<\/p>\n

\u201cBaba, you used to fight for us in the old days. We are being mistreated and you are just quite. Do what you used to do. You will see how quickly you will get into Statehouse,\u201d Khaligraph shared said.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 17, Kiambu Governor James Nyoro also visited Raila and gave him goats as gifts.<\/p>\n

Nairobi\u2019s Acting Governor Anne Kananu also visited Rail and gave a similar gift.<\/p>\n

Political experts have continued to raise questions as to whether Kenyan has an active opposition.<\/p>\n

According to them, there has been extreme laxity in holding the government accountable since Raila and Uhuru formed the Handshake to end the political tension of the heavily contested 2017 presidential elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
