Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko expressed his joy and pride as his son Gift Osinya sat his last KCSE paper at the Lenana School on Thursday, April 22.<\/p>\n

In a heartfelt message, Sonko recalled moments with Osinya whom he adopted in the aftermath of a 2014 terror attack on a Mombasa-based church.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday was again a moment of great joy and a big milestone for us as a family when Master Gift Osinya completed his KCSE at the Lenana School. My son Gift, I am so proud of you and truly grateful to God for the blessing you have been in our lives,\u201d stated Sonko.<\/p>\n

Gift joined Lenana School in 2017 after attaining 399 marks in his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).<\/p>\n

At the time, the flamboyant politician awarded him Ksh399,000 and set aside Ksh2 million for his education.<\/p>\n

Gift is the elder brother of Satrine Osinya who was also adopted by Sonko.<\/p>\n

Satrine grabbed international headlines after the terrorists who had attacked Joy Jesus Repentance church in Mombasa left her a bullet lodged in her skulls.<\/p>\n

He was 18 months old when he escaped death by a whisker but his father could not afford treatment to have the bullet removed. The boys’ mother was one of the six people who died in the attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe heartbreaking picture of Gift Osinya carrying his injured brother, Baby Satrine Osinya went viral, and I was deeply touched by the plight of the two little boys who had lost their mother in the most cruel way, as kenyans were,\u201d said Sonko.<\/p>\n

Despite the biological father being alive, Sonko took full responsibility for the boys. Known for his philanthropy, he recently gifted his six-year-old son, Satrine, a brand new Mercedes Benz.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pray that the God of Daniel, Meshack and Abednego who saved your life, and that of younger brother Satrine, will forever walk before you and with you at all times as you enter the next phase of your life as a young adult,” the former Governor told his son.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
