Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya has recorded 511 new Covid-19 cases, from a sample size of 4,020 tested in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 12.7 per cent.<\/p>\n

Of the cases, 477 are Kenyans while 34 are foreigners. 280 are males and 231 are females. The youngest is a five-day-old infant while the oldest is 95 years.<\/p>\n

During a briefing on Tuesday 27th, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that 467 patients had recovered from the disease, 385 from home-based care, and 82 from various health facilities.<\/p>\n

Total recoveries now stand at 107,303 out of which 78,207 are from home-based care and isolation, while 29,096 are from various health facilities.<\/p>\n

On a sad note, 22 deaths have been reported over the past twenty-four hours. 18 of them occurred over the past month while four were from an audit of late reports. The cumulative deaths so far are at 2,665.<\/p>\n

A total of 1,365 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 6,926 patients are on Home-based isolation and care.<\/p>\n

192 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), 35 of whom are on ventilatory support and 127 on supplemental oxygen. 30 patients are on observation.<\/p>\n

As of today, a total of 840,075 persons have been vaccinated against the Covid-19 disease countrywide. Of these 486,754 are aged 58 years and above, Health workers 154,031, teachers 129, 527 whole Security officers 70,467.<\/p>\n

As of April 25, 2021, a total of 1,080,000 doses had been distributed to the regional depots countrywide leaving a balance of 40,000 doses at the Kitengela Central Vaccines stores.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health has continued to urge Kenyans to adhere to the new Covid-19 guidelines instituted by the government in order to curb the third wave of the virus.<\/p>\n

He noted that the government would not ease the containment measures despite the decline of the Covid-19 positivity rate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
