Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri’s row played out in public as the two Jubilee politicians quarrelled and made accusations against each other.<\/p>\n

Kihika, on Saturday, May 22, stated that Ngunjiri was indecisive and unsure of which camp to support. The Senator further alleged that the MP had betrayed his colleagues who are allied to DP Ruto.<\/p>\n

Ngunjiri on his part had claimed in a press conference that Kihika was among a set of leaders planning to frustrate President Uhuru Kenyatta once he retires from office.<\/p>\n

“One also needs a little intelligence when spreading propaganda. Kimani is peddling lies just to get the attention of someone he ran up and down the streets insulting a few months ago (Uhuru). Didn\u2019t he just vote yes for the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020 (BBI) that he campaigned against for the last two years?<\/p>\n

“Who would dare trust this man who blows hot and cold every other day? For me it spells an unreliable, character who switches sides depending on where his bread is being buttered that evening,” Kihika criticised his colleague.<\/p>\n

Ngunjiri, while speaking at a press conference in Naivasha cautioned Kihika against fighting Uhuru. The MP especially alleged that the Jubilee Senator’s real reason behind running for Nakuru Governor’s seat in 2022 was to get back at Uhuru.<\/p>\n

“My friend, politics is not about you but Nakuru residents. We want to respect the President and allow him to drink tea at State House with his successor. How can you disturb the President’s peace? Try and you will see my wrath as I won’t allow Nakuru residents to be divided, “Ngunjiri warned his allies.<\/p>\n

These developments further indicate the rift within UDA a few weeks after a section of Ruto\u2019s allies accused Ngunjiri of being a mole in their camp. The MP was called out after voting for the BBI bill against his allies’ wishes.<\/p>\n

They, later on, downplayed the situation when Ruto met Ngunjiri at Karen and allowed him to campaign for UDA candidates in the by-elections. Analysts stated that Ruto\u2019s allies are unsettled over his 2022 plan and are pushing him to choose a Mt Kenya candidate as a running mate.<\/p>\n

Kihika who was chosen to represent UDA interests in Nakuru, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri are among those touted to be Ruto\u2019s deputies.<\/p>\n

Kuria, has been accused of charting his own course within Ruto\u2019s camp by propagating his People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) agenda. UDA and PEP will both front candidates in the July 15 Kiambaa by-election.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo other candidate should come and say that they are under the hustler nation. We will be there as they campaign.
