Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Celebrated US pop star Madonna Louise Ciccone, mononymously known as Madonna, has elevated her philanthropy to a whole new level.<\/p>\n

In a post she shared on Instagram, the renowned queen of pop shared an exotic tote bag she designed as a charity for a children’s home based in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n

She designed the bags with the help of her son, David Banda, whom she adopted from Malawi.<\/p>\n

The canvas bag is covered in artful quotes and bares the world-famous face of the late revered author James Baldwin which the pop star revealed was hand-drawn by Banda, 15.<\/p>\n

“We designed these bags to support Art For Education. David drew James Baldwin’s face and I wrote one of his quotes! All proceeds will be donated to the Chema Vision Children’s center in Nairobi, Kenya. Please support,” she captioned the bag.<\/p>\n

While showcasing her latest creation, Madonna wore a Gucci outfit and made a peace sign during her pose.<\/p>\n

Some of Baldwin’s quotes that were printed on the bags include, “Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does… Love is a battle, Love is a war. Love is a growing up.”<\/p>\n

Madonna adopted Banda in 2006 when he was just 13-months-old.<\/p>\n

With her net worth now valued at Ksh85 billion ($850 million), Madonna has continued carrying out various philanthropic activities around the world and has made several visits to Kenya.<\/p>\n

As recently as January 2021, Madonna surprised residents of Baringo as she toured the county with a chopper.<\/p>\n

The renowned artist also toured Samburu where she freely mingled with locals and was awed by their rich culture that has been preserved for centuries.<\/p>\n

In her speech after visiting Baringo Valley, the 62-year-old pop sensation was amazed by the traditions of the Pokot tribe as she joined them in dance.<\/p>\n

Madonna jetted into the country from Blantyre, Malawi, where she was involved in a number of charitable causes. They include the Jacaranda School for Orphans and the commissioning of a dance academy – Madame X Dance Studio.<\/p>\n
