Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa explained a blunder he made that saw him kicked out of the Airforce.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the burial of Senior Sergeant Stephen Omaran Omale at Chebukwabi village in Kimilili, Barasa stated that his colleagues in the army convinced him to help them get loans but the situation escalated and he was dismissed.<\/p>\n

The MP told mourners that Senior Sergeant Omale was among those who asked him to convince the Senior Officer to sign off on loans for them.<\/p>\n

However, when the S.O did not sign off on the loans Barasa took matters into his own hands and signed the documents that approved the funds for his colleagues.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took their forms and went into the boss\u2019s office to try and talk to him so that they get what they wanted… He refused to sign the forms for them to receive the loans but interestingly, and left me in his office,” Barasa stated.<\/p>\n

“When he left me in his office I immediately took his rubber-stamp and stamped all the forms then I signed them and handed them over to my friends,” he continued.<\/p>\n

The MP stated that this mistake cost him his job in the Air Force.<\/p>\n

Omale was among the eleven KDF officers who died in the grisly crash in Kajiado County on Thursday, June 24.<\/p>\n

According to a statement by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), the plane is a Mi 171e Air Force Helicopter and crashed at around 9 am.<\/p>\n

“It was on a training mission and crash-landed at the Ol Tepesi area in Ngong, Kajiado County. Rescue missions are underway,” reads the statement in part.<\/p>\n

KDF added that all passengers on board the plane had been accounted for and moved to safety.<\/p>\n

“The injured were airlifted and are at the Defense Forces Memorial Hospital, Nairobi. Regrettably, following the crash, we suffered fatalities. The process of communicating with the families to relay the information and KDF condolences are underway,” reads the statement in part.<\/p>\n

The 11 include; WO2 Joshua Obare Odera, WO2 Tarcisio Wandera Namboka, Ssgt Noah Wanyonyi Munialo, Ssgt Bob Kipkemoi Aruasa, Ssgt Anthony Simon Kamuti and Sgt Josphat Muriuki Maingi.<\/p>\n

Others are; Ssgt Irene Wanjiku Githinji, Sgt Steve Ombuka Angwenyi, Sgt Stephen Omarian Omale, Cpl Bonface Ogati Mocheche and Spte Thomas Shekeine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
