Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The supremacy battle between Orange Democratic Movement Party leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto intensified as the ODM Party Members of Parliament accused Ruto of riding on Raila\u2019s development Agenda.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media at Parliament building on Thursday, July 15, the MPs dismissed Ruto\u2019s \u201chustler narrative\u201d and dared him to come up with his own agenda for poor Kenyans rather than Raila\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n

The parliamentarians’ ODM chair, John Mbadi, Busia Woman Rep Florence Mutua and MPs Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja), Zulekha Hassan (Kwale) and Abdulswamad Nassir (Mvita) insisted Ruto was stealing ODM ideas and made blunders in his utterances since he has no ideas how the concepts were invented.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it is about the infrastructure in rural areas, if that is what Ruto has always been talking about, he needs to join Raila Odinga because remember when Raila was the Minister for Energy he came with rural electrification which we are still talking about to date,\u201d Mbadi argued.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday this week, Raila revealed his new plans to make Kenya wealthy where he proposed investment in development planning specific to rural areas, investment in rural infrastructure, efficient and quality healthcare resources and reliable electricity.<\/p>\n

However, Ruto dismissed the move and claimed it was Raila\u2019s afterthought to catch up with his \u201chustler narrative\u201d bottom-up economic approach.<\/p>\n

While addressing church leaders at his Karen home in Nairobi on Thursday, July 15, Ruto claimed Raila had finally joined him in a proper conversation on how to transform the lives of many Kenyans living in poverty.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe told you we will change the conversation in this country. It will never be about political formations based on tribal lines but about the economy. It will not be about power-sharing but about empowering Kenyans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be about how Kenyan youth will get more jobs. I am happy even those championing the change of constitution have surrendered because they know Kenyans don\u2019t want to change the constitution,\u201d Ruto explained.<\/p>\n

However, Raila allies emphasized Ruto was engaging in experimentation since he has never fulfilled his promises.<\/p>\n

They urged Kenyans to be vigilant not to be deceived by politicians with no track record in championing development that targets the struggling Kenyans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
