Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday, July 18 warned his political rivals to prepare for a tough battle in the 2022 State House race.<\/p>\n

This comes days after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party that Ruto plans to use to clinch the presidency won the Kiambaa parliamentary seat.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Lunga Lunga, Kwale County, Ruto dismissed the ongoing coalition talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta\u2019s led Jubilee Party and Raila\u2019s ODM Party, insisting the formations will not stop him from ascending to power.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am telling them that they can join all the forces against me but they should be ready because we, the hustlers, will face them,\u201d Ruto stated.<\/p>\n

The DP accused his rivals of targeting him and his allies through trumped-up corruption allegations to intimidate them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWoe unto those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, what will you do on the day of reckoning when disaster befalls upon you?\u201d The DP asked.<\/p>\n

He claimed that there was corruption and partiality in the fight against corruption simply to derail his political ambitions.<\/p>\n

Ruto also accused Raila Odinga of taking advantage of the 2018 \u2018handshake\u2019 to derail Jubilee\u2019s Big Four Agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cRaila came from National Super Alliance and started frustrating us in Jubilee. He came with the change of constitution that distracted our plans to create jobs for the youth,\u201d Ruto argued.<\/p>\n

He insisted Kenyans are wiser and it is time leaders stop talking about less important changes to the constitution and focus on better economic plans to transform the lives of the youth and the poor.<\/p>\n

The DP defended his \u2018Bottom-up\u2019 development approach arguing it will solve the economic hardships in the country.<\/p>\n

Ruto insisted the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will not solve the problems Kenyans are facing and should be rejected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
