Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Boss Lieutenant General Mohammed Badi still hangs portraits of Members of Country Assembly (MCAs) allied to the Former Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko who opposed his appointment at City Hall.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Standard, Badi stated that as a military man he has never forgotten how they opposed his tenure that’s why he keeps the portrait.<\/p>\n

He however argued that he does not hold a grudge against them and now all those MCAs are on his side.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to put their pictures up to know who my enemies were, but today if they walk in, all of them are my friends\u2026 When they see themselves on the wall, all of them change their loyalty,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sonko responding to Badi stated that Badi should focus on service delivery to the people of Nairobi and leave him alone as he exited the stage.<\/p>\n

“You are now a Lieutenant General congratulations for that but please endelea kufanyia wananchi kazi nzuri uliopatiwa na Rais kufanya wachana na mimi niendele na maisha yangu (You are now a Lieutenant General congratulations for that but please continue serving the citizens with the job you were given by the President and leave my life out of it),” Sonko wrote on social media account.<\/p>\n

Addressing his fallout with Sonko, Badi argued that he enjoyed a cordial working relationship with him till the time he got picked by President Uhuru Kenyatta to lead the NMS.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe former Governor we were good friends when I was in the military (SIC)\u2026 But, when I took over the transferred functions, it felt like a threat to him, that I was taking over his job, so that is when the bitterness came. I have not taken anyone\u2019s job, mine is service delivery, if he was smart enough he could have earned more mileage by being closer and working with me,\u201d Badi claimed.<\/p>\n

On his future in the military, Badi refuted reports that he would be the next KDF boss due to his close relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe dream of every soldier is to be a four-star general. However, the position of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) is only one yet we are four lieutenant generals.<\/p>\n
