Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has hit out at Deputy President (DP) William Ruto over his phone call with Turkish businessman, Harun Aydin.<\/p>\n

The DP revealed that he had spoken to the Turkish businessman over the phone and apologized to him on behalf of the government for having been unceremoniously removed from the country.<\/p>\n

With the relationship between the DP and his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, continuously degenerating, the Kitui Governor failed to understand why the DP would apologize to the Turkish businessman on behalf of the government.<\/p>\n

According to her tweet, Ruto was using the government’s name in vain, and his reference of the GoK would mean that the government was in support of the Turkish businessman.<\/p>\n

“Ala! Kwani kuna serikali ngapi huku Kenya? (How many governments do we have in Kenya?) Bw\u2019 DP, which GoK are you apologizing on behalf? The Government of Kenya arrested the alleged terror financier. The confusion you have been sowing in government and across the country sasa umeanza ku-export to our trading partners?” lamented Ngilu in a tweet.<\/p>\n

Aydin was arrested after jetting into the country from Uganda on Saturday, August 7, and spent two nights in custody while awaiting production in court.<\/p>\n

The Turkish, who was set to appear at the Kahawa West Law Courts, according to his lawyers, was, however, removed from the country on Monday, August 9.<\/p>\n

In his tweet, the Deputy President accused the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) of torturing the Turkish national while he was in their custody.<\/p>\n

“Just talked & apologized on behalf of GoK to Aydin Harun, now in Turkey, who was politically arrested, tortured & falsely profiled as a ‘terrorist’ but later asked to fly out not to shame those involved. Political pettiness is expensive\/dangerous & will destroy our economy. SHAME!” tweeted the DP.<\/p>\n

Aydin’s lawyer, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, vowed to work on getting the Turkish investor back into the country.<\/p>\n

He condemned the government for forcefully removing Aydin, but later clarified that the Turkish investor was “not deported” but left the country without duress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
