Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa tickled church-goes yesterday when he revealed that he had attempted becoming a bishop years back before politics came calling.<\/p>\n

While addressing the congregation on August, 22 at A.C.K St Luke’s Wang’uru Church in Ngurubani Town, Mwea Constituency, Kirinyaga County, the MP revealed that trials and temptations foiled his plans.<\/p>\n

It all began when Kirinyaga Woman Representative, Purity Ngirici, who served as the moderator, called up Barasa to address members of the church.<\/p>\n

He took the opportunity and explained how his father had wanted him to become a bishop, which he gladly agreed to. He said he was so serious about it that he enrolled at a seminary school to study theology.<\/p>\n

Barasa revealed that he excelled in his coursework and examinations in his formative years. However, things began to take a different turn as he apparently fell victim to “trials and temptations”.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a Catholic, I enrolled at a seminary and did well in my exams, until trials and temptations began,\u201d he humorously narrated, much to the delight of the congregation.<\/p>\n

He confessed to having caught the attentive eye of a certain secretary whenever he dropped his examination papers for marking at an institution in Thika, Kiambu County.<\/p>\n

Eventually, he couldn’t resist her anymore. He gave in to her advances and guilt couldn’t allow him to continue with the course. He forfeited the course.<\/p>\n

As the congregation burst into laughter, Barasa remarked that he will resume his studies one day, and finally become a bishop as he had agreed with his father.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though that plan did not go through, I still look forward to being a bishop one day after politics,\u201d the politician concluded, leaving the faithful in probouts of laughter.<\/p>\n

Moreover, he reaffirmed his allegiance to the Hustler Nation while praising DP William Ruto’s bottom-up economic plan.<\/p>\n

Barasa was part of DP Ruto\u2019s entourage on the visit to Mwea. His entourage included Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Nyeri woman representative Rahab Mukami, and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.<\/p>\n
