Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A police officer based at Njoro Police Station in Njoro Sub-county, Nakuru County, shot and killed a female patient seeking treatment at the Njoro Sub County hospital on Sunday night, August 22.<\/p>\n

Benard Sivo is reported to have stormed Njoro Sub-county Hospital and fatally shot a woman reported to be his girlfriend, as she was receiving treatment.<\/p>\n

Mary Nyambura, aged 29 years, had visited the hospital with a fracture on her right leg, complaining that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and was admitted for treatment.<\/p>\n

The patient’s suspected boyfriend shortly after stormed the hospital shooting wildly – according to Njoro Sub-county Hospital administrator, Timothy Maina.<\/p>\n

The assailant, aged 28 years, had just taken over a shift at the Njoro Police Station and had excused himself to make a call outside the report office.<\/p>\n

Armed with an AK 47 rifle, he headed to Njoro Sub-county Hospital which is about 1km west of the police station in order to pursue and fatally shoot her.<\/p>\n

Nyambura was shot severally on the right arm, right wrist, and on her right back by the rogue officer who then returned back to Njoro Police Station and fired his gun aimlessly within the station.<\/p>\n

Officers at the station mobilized themselves to disarm the assailant in what led to the officer inadvertently shooting himself on the chin.<\/p>\n

The bullet exited on the upper forehead of the officer leading to his instant death.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, there were no casualties in the tussle that ensued as the officers tried to disarm the killer officer.<\/p>\n

The scenes of both shootings were visited by Njoro Sub-county Commander, DCIO, OCS, and a team of officers who recovered an AK 47 rifle with a magazine of 11 rounds of 7.62mm special.<\/p>\n

Bodies of the two were taken to Egerton University Morgue, awaiting postmortem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
