Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened another meeting with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) Principals and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga at State House Mombasa on Wednesday, August 25.<\/p>\n

According to a report by the People Daily, the meeting is slated to be a gathering of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) proponents in a bid to discuss the next course of action after the Court of Appeal recently upheld the illegality of the bill.<\/p>\n

The report further indicated that OKA principals constituting Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya), and Gideon Moi (Kanu) will also be discussing the basis of forging an alliance with Raila in order to face Deputy President William Ruto.<\/p>\n

“The president had convened a meeting on Monday, August 23, of Raila, and the OKA principals in order to take stock of the Court of Appeal verdict but this has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 25, to allow maximum attendance.<\/p>\n

“This will also be a follow-up on the meeting on Tuesday last week, which focused on forming a formidable alliance to face Ruto in next year’s General Election,” the source intimated.<\/p>\n

The OKA principals had poured cold water on the reports which purported that last week’s meeting was based on discussions to support Raila for the top seat.<\/p>\n

“No one asked or even suggested that we support anyone for anything,” Mudavadi stated.<\/p>\n

Further, Raila urged his supporters to move on after the BBI judgement noting that his plans are to focus on the “Azimio la Umoja” campaign bid for the 2022 General Election.<\/p>\n

The strategy is seen as the counter to Ruto’s Bottom-up model- both approaches imply to be the saviour of Kenyans’ economic woes.<\/p>\n

“Let people stop belaboring on the BBI verdict and stay focused on our 2022 Azimio la Umoja movement,” Raila recently stated.<\/p>\n
