Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The immediate former Harambee Stars coach, Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, has cleared the air on his departure as the head coach, stating that he left due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n

While hosting a morning show on Radio Jambo on Thursday, September 16, Mulee stated that he decided to resign due to the state of his brother\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been going through a tough time. I was in India for two months with my brother who is ailing. After returning from India, a lot of things changed personally,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Mulee further stated that he was having a difficult time and he believed that he could not carry out his coaching duties effectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had plans for the team. I think I would be doing the country injustice if I remained to be the head coach yet I have personal issues affecting me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

During the show, Mulee, who doubles up as a radio journalist, also revealed that he desired to resign earlier but he could not do so because of the games Harambee Stars had to play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were just about to start the World Cup qualifying games and in that situation, it is very difficult for a coach to resign,\u201d Mulee revealed.<\/p>\n

He went further to narrate how he sat down with the football governing body to find a solution after Kenya\u2019s games against Rwanda and Uganda.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the draw against Rwanda and Uganda, I sat down with the FKF and we all saw it fit that I hand over to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, September 15, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) issued an official statement stating that the radio journalist had left the national team.<\/p>\n

\u201cFootball Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars Head coach \u2018Ghost\u2019 Mulee have reached a decision to part ways on mutual consent, effective immediately,\u201d read the statement.<\/p>\n

The radio journalist also refuted speculations on social media that he was sacked, stating that he has a good working relationship with the FKF president, Nick Mwendwa.<\/p>\n
