The early mornings and late nights together with a team of talented professionals from Hiventy Africa, We successfully brought the script to life and it now streaming on Netflix,&#8221; part of his post read.<\/p>\n<p>He further stated the comedy show is the first-ever Swahili piece to stream on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You can now Watch Upshaws on Netflix in Swahili it is the first-ever Swahili comedy show on Netflix. History has been made,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n<p>After the big win, Butita claimed that it has opened other avenues for African producers to get their artistic works aired on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If Eddie Butita Wrote and Directed for Netflix It means that African Comics have a great chance in the global market and we are ready for the world,&#8221; Butita wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to landing the deal with Netflix, Butita has been doing stand-up comedy Clips, Video Logs, Parodies, and Skits then sharing to different platforms attracting a lot of viewers.<\/p>\n<p>The show is a recreation of US comedy The Upshaws.<\/p>\n<p>Wanda Sykes in the series headlines a Netflix Multicam she co-created, starring Mike Epps and Kim Fields as an Indiana couple whose marriage becomes strained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
