Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>\u030cFormer Agriculture CS and TSP Party Leader Mwangi Kiunjuri has emotionally recounted how some of his closest political allies have abandoned him and his family at their lowest point.<\/p>\n

Kiunjuri spoke on on Friday, September 24, during the burial of his nephew Gerald Kiunjuri – expressing his disbelief as two of his longtime political allies did not show up to condole him.<\/p>\n

The TSP boss specifically named Laikipia Senator John Kinyua and Laikipia West MP Patrick Mariru as two politicians he had helped build their careers – but who have avoided associating with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday two people surprised me, Senator John Kinyua, who I put in my vehicle in 2013 taking him all round in Laikipia. He was broke and my wife fed him for three months, yet up to now not even a message of condolences has he sent to me and my family. Not even a WhatsApp message.<\/p>\n

\u201cLaikipia West MP Mariru also has not sent me any condolence not or anything of the sort all I want to say before the church is that I have never wronged either of the two and whatever I have said about the two is the only thing I will ever say about them and may God redeem them\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Kiunjuri also noted that he was the one who funded them when they had no funds for the campaign.<\/p>\n

The former CS also explained how he helped the senator and Mp get their elective posts, citing that both were initially eyeing for the same seat.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the past election period I called both of them for a six-hour meeting explaining to them that if they went for the same position, they would lose so I advised one to vie for the senatorial position and the other to vie for the MP post\u201d Kiunjuri claimed.<\/p>\n

The former CS’s 29-year old nephew is reported to have taken his life while facing mental health challenges.<\/p>\n

Leaders who had accompanied the party boss included NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Laikipia Women Rep Kate Waruguru, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Kieni MP Kanini Kega.<\/p>\n

At the event, various politicians, when given a chance to speak to the crowd, took the chance and addressed their political views.<\/p>\n

Karua highlighted that as the Mount Kenya region leaders they were meeting in order to table down the interest of the region where after that everyone will be at liberty to go to their own to campaign for their own party.<\/p>\n

Waruguru asked both Kiunjuri and Karua to stop whining daily about Deputy President William Ruto and asked them to make up their minds on who they will support come next year’s polls.<\/p>\n

Kiunjuri also took to social media to thank those who supported them during their hard time.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family and I thank you all, most sincerely for the kind messages of encouragement and support that you relayed here. We rested our nephew well and thank God for the 29 years of his life.
