Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>It is a fresh start for the residents of Kianjokoma after the government opened up a new police station in the once little known town in Embu county.<\/p>\n

The town was propelled to headlines after two brothers were allegedly killed by police officers after they were arrested for contravention of the curfew rules.<\/p>\n

The new police station was opened on Sunday, September 26, by Embu North Sub County Police Commander, Abdullahi Adan, the clergy and a section of Kianjokoma residents.<\/p>\n

The new police station also received a new set of police officers led by Isaac Mugoya, who will serve as the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and will be deputised by Elisha Mwaniki.<\/p>\n

The station also got a new police vehicle to facilitate movement of the officers.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, the community welcomed the newly posted officers during a church service at the ACK Trinity Church. The service was presided over by Reverend Isaiah Njagi who prayed for the OCS, his deputy and the other officers.<\/p>\n

“When they will be coming out of Kianjokoma, they will be going out on a promotion. They will not go out because of any disciplinary cases,” Njagi prayed.<\/p>\n

During the service, the community donated chairs for the new police bosses.<\/p>\n

The new OCS assured that his team would bring back security to Kianjokoma. He called for the community to work together with the police to restore the town to its former self.<\/p>\n

“Work with us so that Kianjokoma will be remembered as secure and peaceful and not a place of sorrow, tears or demise,” Mugoya reiterated.<\/p>\n

The residents of the town had asked for a change of police in the area following the demise of two brothers, Benson and Emmanuel Ndwiga, under unclear circumstances on August 1.<\/p>\n

Six officers are currently in court facing charges in connection to the two brothers’ deaths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
