Africa-Press<\/a> – Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has on Wednesday, September 29 addressed reports on vacancies in the body.<\/p>\n

Through their social media platforms, IEBC has notified the public that they have not made any announcements on mass recruitment for enumeration jobs.<\/p>\n

They have asked the public to ignore the viral poster circulating on the internet, indicating that the electoral body has opened vacancies for voter registration jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIEBC\u2019s attention has been drawn to a fake viral advert, calling for applications for short time jobs as voter educators for the registration, which kicks off on October 4th, 2021,\u201d the commission\u2019s report read.<\/p>\n

Notably, the commission stated that enumeration jobs are not within their mandate, and so they cannot advertise such.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Commission has NOT advertised for any enumeration jobs, that is not within our mandate,\u201d the notice read.<\/p>\n

The electoral body addressed the issue after they got complaints from Kenyans on Twitter, requesting to know why they did not get feedback, even after sending in their applications for the positions.<\/p>\n

The poster, which was signed and stamped, has been all over for the better part of last week and this week, urging interested applicants to send their applications by today, September 29.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo carry out the exercise, the commission invites applicants for temporary staff positions of Ward-Based Voter Educators,\u201d the fake poster read.<\/p>\n

In the poster, all interested applicants were asked to drop their documents at the IEBC constituency office of the respective ward they shall be applying for.<\/p>\n

The body has urged Kenyans to save themselves the trouble of taking their papers to the ward offices since that was a fake poster.<\/p>\n

\u201cNote the Commission has not advertised for such positions and the public is advised to ignore the same,\u201d they warned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
