{"id":37270,"date":"2021-10-16T16:57:33","date_gmt":"2021-10-16T16:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=37270"},"modified":"2021-10-16T15:24:45","modified_gmt":"2021-10-16T15:24:45","slug":"kenha-issues-traffic-advisory-ahead-of-mashujaa-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/kenha-issues-traffic-advisory-ahead-of-mashujaa-day","title":{"rendered":"KENHA Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead of Mashujaa Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Kenya National Highways Authority(KENHA) on Friday, October 15, issued a traffic advisory for motorists ahead of the Mashujaa day celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the celebrations which will be held at Wang\u2019uru stadium in Kirinyaga on Wednesday,October 20, KENHA has issued a notice on the routes motorists are advised to use.<\/p>\n<p>This is because of the ongoing construction of the Sagana highway, hence high traffic is to be expected.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists that will be heading to different destinations from Nairobi via the highway, will be highly affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMembers of the public attending the celebrations will access the venue via the Kenol-Sagana-Marua road which is currently under construction,\u201d an excerpt from the notice read.<\/p>\n<p>KENHA has notified the public that traffic will be high along Sagana town, the Kenol Township pavement, the Muranga Teachers Training college, Sabasaba bridge and Makutano junction.<\/p>\n<p>High congestion shall also be expected along the Karema Kiangwaci section, Kibingoti area, Kangocho-Jambo section, Tumutumu junction and Wariruta town.<\/p>\n<p>All these road sections will be greatly affected by traffic because of the ongoing construction of the carriageway.<\/p>\n<p>For motorists proceeding from Nairobi, KENHA has advised that they use alternative routes like the Samson\u2019s Corner-Kutus-Sagana-Murang\u2019a-Kenol and the Kiganjo-Nyeri-Othaya-Murang\u2019a-Kenol.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, motorists are hereby advised to use the Kenol-Murang&#8217;a-Sagana stretch, the Kenol-Murang\u2019a-Geitwa-Kiriani-Othaya-Nyeri stretch and the Sagana-Mukurweini-Karatina stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the authority mentioned that observing traffic rules would be mandatory, and all motorists shall be expected to follow directives given by the police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMotorists are advised to exercise caution and road courtesy while using the road.
