Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President William Ruto has said the youth will decide who becomes the president next year.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Bumala, Busia County on Saturday, Ruto insisted that the vote will also not be decided by the people holding closed door meetings in hotels.<\/p>\n

“It’s the votes of the millions of youth in Kenya that will decide,” he said.<\/p>\n

“And when you decide, elect a government that will take care of your needs so that you can get jobs, start businesses and take care of your families, without leaving others behind.”<\/p>\n

The second in command urged the youth not to allow themselves to be divided along tribal lines, saying that his government will serve everyone regardless of where they come from or what language they speak.<\/p>\n

“Don’t allow anyone to tell you that this person is Kalenjin, the other is Luhya, another is Luo or Kikuyu,” Ruto said.<\/p>\n

He called on Bumala residents to speak in one voice and ensure youth get jobs and that poverty is eradicated.<\/p>\n

The DP spoke as he continued his tour of the Western region.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Ruto who was in Kakamega county asked his competitors to stop disturbing President Uhuru Kenyatta and allow him to serve Kenyans.<\/p>\n

He said it was not the responsibility of the President to unite individuals who have no agenda for the country.<\/p>\n

“Hanging around President Kenyatta for direction and support, was a clear indication that my competitors have no plans and agenda for the country,” Ruto said.<\/p>\n
