Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>One Kenya Alliance (OKA) now claims that external interference is the reason the political outfit has scaled down its operations.<\/p>\n

Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka told a local newspaper that there were individuals outside the group who were working hard to frustrate its operations.<\/p>\n

“What I can confirm is that there are forces of doom determined to sow seeds of discord within OKA. But the spirit of OKA is alive and our vision to unite this country for shared prosperity is even clearer today than when we first came together,” said Kalonzo.<\/p>\n

Kalonzo’s sentiments were echoed by Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi who admitted that the detractors were compelling the alliance to tune to a particular rhythm, a trap he says they will never fall into.<\/p>\n

The former Vice President who is out of the country for a private visit says that the efforts are intended to portray OKA as less aggressive for the presidency by making the race look like a two-horse race.<\/p>\n

“The alleged lull by us is part of a wider scheme to portray OKA as running out of steam. We shall run our affairs according to our plan but not to satisfy a marking scheme developed by our detractors,” said the seemingly incensed Wiper leader.<\/p>\n

Although the OKA principals have declined to name the detractors, Mudavadi’s spokesperson Kibisu Kabatesi says that state operatives were behind the scheme.<\/p>\n

He further accused the government of aiding presidential candidates in their campaigns, saying that Raila Odinga had been assured of state support while William Ruto benefited from his Deputy President’s office.<\/p>\n

“It is now obvious he (Raila) has acquired State largesse that conditions him to spend it in Mt Kenya. How that will translate into Mt Kenya vote is not clear. For Ruto, he still enjoys all the stipends allocated to the DP’s office and lacks for nothing,” said Kabatesi.<\/p>\n

OKA principals have maintained that they will be on the ballot come 2020, despite mounting pressure on the alliance to throw weight behind the ODM chief.<\/p>\n

Through a delegates’ meeting, Kenya African National Union (KANU) endorsed Baringo Senator and OKA co-principal Gideon Moi to vie for presidency in its ticket.<\/p>\n

OKA was last seen together in public when they held a meeting with Mt Kenya Foundation at Safari Park Hotel to deliberate on interests presented by the tycoons.<\/p>\n
