Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>As President Uhuru Kenyatta turned 60 years old on Tuesday, October 26, Kenyans made funny and challenging requests to him on various platforms on social media.<\/p>\n

The messages sent to the President clearly showed that Kenyans never forget a promise made, and out of everything, there will always be something to laugh about.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear Mr. President\u2026\u201d has been the trending topic for the better part of the day on social media, with some users using it to criticise the Head of State for failure to deliver on his promises, while other made fun of the same.<\/p>\n

Some social media users went ahead to claim that Kenyans should not question the President on what he has done to the nation, since it was a birthday gift to him four years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t we give Uhuru the nation as a birthday gift in 2017 to punish Raila? The gift was his, and I believe everybody decides what they do with their birthday gift,\u201d one of the comments read.<\/p>\n

A section of Kenyans, however, had very funny sentiments and requests to Uhuru, asking him to honour them in his last birthday as President of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr President, you are very smart. Ulitoa curfew ndio upige sherehe bila stress. Much respect Kiongoss (Mr President, you are very smart. You recently vacated the curfew so that you can have the chance to celebrate without pressure. Much respect),\u201d one Kenyan tweeted.<\/p>\n

“As your last birthday, you could have declared this a national holiday and treat us all with free drinks. Hivyo tungekupea tano tena! (We would have elected you again),” another one mentioned.<\/p>\n

It, however, wasn’t all charismatic as a majority of Kenyans, among other requests, demanded that the President gives them a full report on the Pandora Papers.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan we have a lifestyle audit for your family since 1961? Also, if you think we have forgotten about the Pandora expose, please wake up from that dream. We want you to fully explain the Pandora Papers expose. As a birthday gift, give us full details of your offshore accounts,” remarked a section of the social media users.<\/p>\n

The President has also been heavily criticized for the rate of graft in the country, with some wanting him to explain why he is so calm, yet the country wallows in debt yearly but loses Ksh2 billion daily.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear Mr President, could you please tell us how you remain so calm when we lose Ksh2 billion to graft daily? You must be one of a kind,\u201d one comment read.<\/p>\n

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru\u2019s move to join UDA also contributed to the heated discussion, with some Kenyans joking that Waiguru has gifted Ruto on Uhuru\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

The online users urged President Uhuru not to forget that Ruto made him the Head of State, and join him in his quest for the presidency.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Uhuru Kenyatta… Anne Waiguru has given you a gift of standing in solidarity with your deputy, William Samoei Ruto. As you turn 60, have the energy and wisdom to endorse Ruto. If not, serve for 10 more years,\u201d an netizen wrote.<\/p>\n

Some, however, contradicted that view saying that Uhuru should emulate his predecessor, Mwai Kibaki, by not endorsing any presidential hopeful to avoid splitting the country.<\/p>\n

Others faulted Uhuru for not keeping his promises and making life harder.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Kenyatta, we would like to know what happened to the lofty promises you made to Kenyans in 2013. Ensure you have kept your promises in the remaining eight months,” a social media user wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have done a great job just like Moi to ensure that you are the last in your lineage to be elected in this Kenya. Good job.”<\/p>\n

\u201cUhuru, you should be ashamed of yourself, Kenya would be the richest country in Africa with low unemployment rates were it not for graft that we have seen under your watch! You are leaving us with the biggest debt ever! You have failed Kenya!\u201d added a social media user.<\/p>\n
