Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The Hungarian Government, through the Ministry of Education, has announced the availability of 200 study scholarships for Kenyan students.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the MoE indicated that Hungary had increased the number of scholarships it will be giving to Kenyan students from 50 to 200 as part of a program to promote higher learning.<\/p>\n

The Hungarian Ambassador, Zsolt M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros, stated that the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship was available for Kenyans wishing to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various programs.<\/p>\n

He stated that Hungary will continue investing in education to enable young Kenyans to pursue quality higher learning in his country.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador also encouraged eligible Kenyan youth who qualify for these programmes to grab the opportunity and get the necessary experience for building their careers.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the launch of the education fair in Nairobi, the Principal Secretary, Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, said the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program is a bilateral cooperation between the Kenyan and Hungarian Governments which was launched in 2013 as part of the government policy called \u201cEastern and Southern Opening”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program’s core mission is to increase the number of foreign student\u2019s in Hungary and encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students,\u201d PS Nabukwesi explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently, 70 sending partners are engaged in the program and we are proud to state that Kenya is among the partners,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

PS Nabuwesi noted that the areas of study provided through the scholarships are aligned to the government’s Big Four agenda which focuses on Agriculture, Manufacturing, Medical Sciences and Architecture.<\/p>\n

The PS stated that the degree courses offered were an important aspect of housing as well as promotion of industrialization and achievement of other national development priorities as outlined in Vision 2030.<\/p>\n

The scholarships are available on the Ministry of Education website and those eligible can visit the site and apply.<\/p>\n

A quick search by Kenyans.co.ke on the scholarships being offered showed they varied from Arts degrees to research for diseases such as cancer.<\/p>\n
