Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Outspoken city lawyer, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, has weighed in on the three petitions filed before the Public Service Commission (PSC) seeking to remove from office the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, November 3, Ahmednasir better known as Grand Mullah, claimed that there will be more petitions calling for the removal of Haji from his current position.<\/p>\n

He alleged that the DPP had upset some powerful government officials and that the said officials have been raising millions of shillings to ensure he is kicked out of office.<\/p>\n

The Senior Counsel went on to claim that a number of Cabinet Secretaries have also contributed to the fund which is purported to be financing the petitions before the PSC.<\/p>\n

“Very powerful government officials have raised tens of millions of shillings to remove DPP Haji. A number of Cabinet Secretaries have generously contributed to the fund. So if you see endless petitions to the Public Service Commission, then know they are generously funded,” the Senior Counsel stated.<\/p>\n

His remarks come barely a week after DPP Haji alleged there was a plot to kick him out of office by a clique of people in the government, accusing them of trying to usurp his constitutional mandate.<\/p>\n

The DPP on October 29, stated that he would not give in to the demands of those \u201cthinking I don\u2019t know the law.\u201d He likened those criticising him to the donkey that insisted the grass is blue, when the truth is, it\u2019s green.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to be the donkey, we all know the grass is green. I may fall but I can assure you the next DPP who will come from amongst you, will come with much gusto to pick up from where I will have left,\u201d DPP Haji stated.<\/p>\n

There are three petitions that have been filed to remove Haji from office.<\/p>\n

The family of the late businessman Tob Cohen filed the first petition where they accused the DPP Haji of not only mishandling Cohen’s case but also other cases among them Direct Line Assurance Limited and the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) case.<\/p>\n

The second petition was filed by a businessman, Francis Njeru, who alleged that the DPP failed to prosecute two directors of a company who were allegedly charged with forging the land documents in question.<\/p>\n

Njeru claimed that the DPP was reluctant to prosecute the two directors because of a conflict of interest since he (Haji) was related to them.<\/p>\n

A third petition was filed at the PSC by the owner of Jack and Jill Supermarkets Schon Noorani who wants Haji removed from office for allegedly refusing to charge his former business associate Rajendra Sanghani.<\/p>\n

He accused Haji of failing to recommend Sanghani\u2019s prosecution after he allegedly refused to pay the Ksh240 million loan given to him by the businessman.<\/p>\n
